Is there a picnic area?
There are picnic tables near the visitor car park.
Is there anywhere to eat and drink on-site?
There is nowhere to eat and drink on-site. However, you can bring a picnic to eat in the grounds. You can also leave the site and come back to continue your tour. The ticket is valid all day.
Are the museum esplanade and courtyards free to visit?
The château courtyards are free to visit during museum opening times.
Are dogs allowed?
Pets are allowed in the park on a leash. In the museum, only animals carried in arms or in a bag are accepted.
Guide dogs for the blind are accepted in the interiors.
Is there somewhere to lock up my bike?
There are bike stands on the main car park. The museum is approved as bike-friendly by Accueil Vélo and provides cyclists with a repair kit, e-bike charger and more.
Do I have to book ahead?
No, you don’t have to book your trip to the museum beforehand. You can buy your tickets on-site.
However, pre-booking is essential for workshops.
Can I visit the château?
The keep and towers are closed to the general public. You can visit a gallery in the museum about the château’s history (information boards and interactive models covering several periods of construction). There are guided tours of the château at no extra charge during summer.
How long does it take to visit?
It takes an average of 1.5 hr to visit.
I bought my tickets online but I can’t come anymore. Can I get a refund?
E-tickets bought on https://billetterie-prehistoire-grand-pressigny.departement-touraine.fr/ are non-refundable (unless visitors are unable to enter the museum due to the site being closed in unforeseen circumstances). However, you can amend or exchange your tickets online as long as you do so before the date you originally chose to visit. You cannot amend or exchange your tickets after the date stated on your ticket.
Are tickets valid all day?
Tickets are valid all day even if the museum closes for lunch.

Can I take photos?
Yes. However, no flash photography is allowed in the museum.
Is the museum wheelchair-friendly?
The entire museum is suitable for wheelchair users. The museum also has two wheelchairs and folding chairs for visitors to use.

How long do the workshops last?
The workshops last around 1.5 hr and include a short guided tour based on the workshop’s theme.

Can adults take part in the workshops?
Some workshops are suitable for adults. We recommend checking which themes are available with reception.
Are guided tours free?
Guided tours are included in the ticket price at no extra charge.
Is there a gift shop at the museum?
There’s a gift shop in the main lobby. The gift shop is open at the same time as the museum.
